ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) (1989): “Hydrocarbons India Limited” formed in 1965 as a subsidiary of ONGC was Shri D.Malaviya brinchaild to give India succour by getting oil from aboard. It was renamed as OVL in 1989.

  • OVL is a wholly owned subsidiary company of ONGC Limited. It has the mandate to undertake overseas project for exploration and production of Petroleum and other petroleum products.
  • Participating in 21 projects in 13 countries and is currently producing oil & gas from its Sudan (Greater Nile Oil Project), Vietnam, Syria and Russia (Sakhalin) Assets.
  • Oil India Limited (OIL): it is the Govt. of India’s enterprise since 1981. It is engaged in the business of exploration, Production and transportation of Crude Oil and Natural gas.
  • GAIL (India) Limited is a Navaratna enterprise since 1981. The current holding of Govt. of India in GAIL, after disinvestment is 57.35 per cent.
  • GAIL (India) Limited is the largest natural gas processing, transmission and distribution company in India. It supplies gas based fertilizer plant produces urea. Jamnagar- Loni LPG pipeline is the worlds largest exclusive LPG pipeline passing through Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and UP is also maintained by the GAIL.
  • GAILTEL is the telecom wing of GAIL has entered into telecom business armed with two licenses, Infrastructure Provider Category-II and Internet Service Provider.
  • GAIL has already taken equity participation in Egypt, and China. It has participatory interest in Mayanmar and Oman. GAIL (Singapore) Pvt. Ltd.
  • In Singapore is looking after GAIL’s overseas venture and also acquired 7.5% equity in China.
