Open Management Admission Test (OPENMAT)- Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

Open Management Admission Test (OPENMAT) is a common entrance test conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for admission to its Management Programmes.

==Eligibility==
*Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years’ Supervisory/ Managerial/ Professional experience or Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Medicine/ Architecture/ Law, etc. '''OR'''
*Professional Qualifications in Accountancy/ Cost & Works Accountancy/ Company Secretary ship etc. '''OR'''
*Master’s Degree in any subject informed the Regional Director.
*Non-Graduates with 6 years’ Supervisory/ Managerial/ Professional experience are eligible to apply for Diploma in Management (DIM) only.
*The Candidates who have completed 10+2 or its equivalent qualification will be treated as Non-Graduates.

==Application Procedure==
Student Handbook & Prospectus can be obtained from the Registrar (SR&E), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi- 110068 and from all the IGNOU Regional Centers by paying the requisite amount at the respective sale counters or by sending a DD / IPO of the requisite amount in favour of 'IGNOU Payable at New Delhi /city of the concerned Regional Centre'. Application form and prospectus can also be downloaded from the website:[http://www.ignou.ac.in] and sent along with a DD/IPO of the requisite amount in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi by Registered/Speed post to : Registrar (SR&E), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 ( Management Programme).

==Exam Pattern==
The test pattern of OPENMAT will be as given below :
*Test I General Awareness
*Test II English Language
*Test III Quantitative Aptitude
*Test IV Reasoning
All the four tests will be given in a composite test booklet. The test booklet contains 200 objective type multiple choice questions and a specifically designed OMR response sheet. For each question, there are four answer choices suggested and the candidates have to select the right answer from amongst the given answers. In case they find that none of the four alternatives is correct, they have to mark ‘O’. The total time duration will be 3 hours.

Admission entirely depends on the performance of the students or scores obtained in the entrance examination.

==Dates==
OPENMAT examination is held twice a year usually in the month of February and August.
Last Date of Receipt of Application by Registered Post/Speed Post on July 15, 2008
and Date of OPENMAT is August 17, 2008
