Pendyala Harikrishna or Popularly known as P. Harikrishna (Born May 10, 1986, Andhra Pradesh, India) is a well renowned chess player. Pendyala Harikrishna is popularly known as P Harikrishna and is the rated second amongst the top player from India. At the age of 5, he won a gold medal in the Under-8 State Championship and became the wonder boy by continuously winning 10 -15 tournaments with great performance.

Career Achievements

In the year 1996, he became the first Indian to win the Under-10 World Chess Championship which was held in Menorca, Spain. In 2001, he became the youngest Indian Super Grandmaster. He also won the World Junior Chess Championship in 2004 and was graced as the second Indian to win this title. In 2005 he won many gold medals in tournaments like Bermuda International in Bermuda, Taiyun Sanjin International in China, Essent Chess Tournament in Netherlands and the Reykjavik Open in Iceland. He also won the Chess960 Junior Chess Championship in August 2006. P Harikrishna ranks second among the top chess player of India.
