Dear Sir, My brother has applied for the renewal of the passport.All the formalities for the procedure has been done well in time. The status shown is that "police verification not received"

I had applied for passport in Delhi. My file has been transferred to Chandigarh office according to Delhi office and status as shown on the internet. My application reference no. for Delhi was DLH-H000726-10.

My wife Mrs Aruna Goel submitted the application for reissue of Passport at Kurukshetra on 5 /7/ 2010 vide reference no Z571921.
we have checked the status of the application on the Internet site time and again and found to our surprise that the application date is 20-7-2010 why? When it was submitted on 5/7/2010. Status Police report not been received. Why?
She is a Haryana Government employee and submitted an affidavit in Annexure I which is meant for no police verification. She is staying in the same house no 894 sector 13 for the last 20 years.
Further, I am to submit that I have received an appointment letter of visiting Professor on ICCR Chair at Hankuk University Seoul (Korea) – a prestigious assignment with diplomatic passport which require no visa.
My wife is to accompany me for joining this position by August 25,2010 - a great honour bestowed upon for the first time in Kurukshetra University.
To make our foreign visit in near future possible, I request you to reissue the passport at the earliest.

But after marriage i need to add my spouse name in my passport.

I can't submit my spouse's passport as he is out of india.

This is to inform you that the passport form wherein present address and permanent address both are mentioned to faciliatate the customers.
However, we would like to inform you that the customer has the choice of accepting the passport as per his wish i.e. permanent or present. The department can not force to have passport at his present address only when both present and permanent address is mentioned in the form.
You are requested to verify both the address before you utter words in the police station for verification of females, specially.
