My passport has expired on 6th june 2012, first it was issued in Hyderabad(ap) then renewed in Dubai.But the problem is From the past 5 years i have been living in chennai(TN), i have ration card and oter id on my name k vasu but in my passpost my name is mentioned as Kurukatti vasu(Kurukatti is my family name in AP)

My husband has completed the process for renewal of his passport and the process was completed as on 17th April 2012 and we are yet to receive it, meanwhile he has to travel on 19th of May 2012. The status shows that your passport is granted as on 1st of may and you will receive an sms when it is dispatched. I would like to know if there is any way to expidite the process so that he can trave on time. We applied for it from bangalore on 17/03/2012.

I am a british citizen residing in Mumbai, India. I sent my passport for renewal to New Delhi and it was processed and returned to Mumbai within 10 days. However I was unavailable at home and so it has been sent back to New Delhi. I tried contacting the british consulate passport office but they keep telling you to call a UK number (careline services) which charges by the second. Is there an easier way to track where my passport is? Is it better to send someone in person to New Delhi's passport office? Please help.

Could you pls advise the steps for passport renewal of my Kid's short validity passport (5 yrs) which is going to expire this month end?

I see from Passport india website that Renewal is a different process compared to Re-issue and no fee required for renewal.

But my local passport office people say Renewal and Re-issue is the same even for the short-validity passport expiration and same documents to be filled and proof's to be produced.

Could you pls advise on the exact process and docuemnts to be filled on the renewal of short validity passport of my Kid.

Hi Sir/ Madam, My daughter's passport is going to expire on 01/12/2011. Last two years I am living in new address. All of my family members (me, wife and child) are having passport with old address. My passport is going to expire on 18/12/2018 and my wife's passport will be on 10/05/2015. My question is can I change ONLY MY DAUGHTER'S ADDRESS to new address when I renew it? or Is it need to change parent's address first? Is it enough change father's address only? What are the documents required to change the address for a minor passport?

When I am applying in year 2001,i have used my native ration card as proof and residence address in Thanjavur(stayed in thanjavur at that time and ration card is active in Karaikudi as well).

Hi,My passoport was initaially issued under tatkal scheme, so it was short validity period of 5 years( issued date : July 2001, Expiry date July 2006). I never went for renewal. Now i want to apply. Even if apply now for renewal today(16 march 2011) to extend its validity, i will get it only till july 2011. I want to travel after July. So what should i do? reissue or renewal?

My sons passport expires in September 2011 and he is travelling to the U.S.A in April on a school trip.My passport is with the British High Commission in Delhi as I have applied for a British passport.The passport is in its last stages of approval and shall be coming soon but I need to get my sons passport renewed as soon as possible, he is 15yrs+ so is it mandatory for both parents passport to be submitted for renewel of the passport.My husbands passport is available and I have a photocopy of mine can the procedure be done with a photocopy of mine.

My passport expired in November 2010. what I understood from the above comments and your responses is that I need to apply for re-issue of the passport. Currently I'm residing at my present address from last 10 years and all the proofs like DL, Voter Card etc I've for this address only. However, we are about to shift to a new residence and I'll not be having any state proof for that address. I was thinking of waiting till the time I move to my new residence and then applying for the passport renewal so as to avoid again the hassels of changing the address. But there seems few columns on the form that require you to stay at current address for more than one year. Can you please suggest what is better, to get it re-issued now when I'm staying at the current address (for which I've proofs) or wait for some time, move to new residence and then get it re-issued (with new address) and in case you suggest 2nd option will there be any hassels to get it re-issued, when I just stayed at new address for 1 month or so.

Hi, I have to get the passport for my kids renewed and there is a typical situation to which I seek help.

My passport is issued from lucknow and my wifes passport is from Delhi (She has my name mentioned on her pasport).

Now my kids passport were originally issued from Delhi but we are not living there any more and i am currently living at Ahmedabad while my permanent address is jaipur where my parents are living. Since I keep getting transferred i do not have much documents with me (eg. I just have a rental agreement at ahmedabad and i am living here for past 2 years). My kids are studying here right now.

I want to get their passport issued from jaipur where i have Driving license proof, bank account, ration card - for me and kids, etc. My parent stay there as well.

My passport got damaged in rain accidentally. I try to get new passport via tatkal scheme. However, I submitted all the required documents my application was rejected, Since the Police verification status was showned as incomplete for my old passport.
