The Regional Passport Office in Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta was opened in June, 1955. This covers twenty districts of the state of West Bengal. Applications for passport services can be downloaded from the RPO, Kolkata website. These include applications for a new passport, reissuance of a passport in case of expiration of the present one and a new passport in case of the lost original one.
Applications for Police Clearance Certificate, Deletion of ECR Stamp, Inclusion of Spouse's name and change of address can also be downloaded from the site. Apart from these, Personal Particulars Form (PP Form) can also be downloaded. The application forms can be downloaded in both Hindi and English language.
The jurisdiction of RPO Kolkata extends over twenty districts of the State of West Bengal which include: Howrah, Hooghly, 24-paragana (N), 24-paragana (S), Nadia, Birbhum, Burdwan, Bankura, Purulia, Maldah, Murshidabad, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Coochbihar, Dinajpur (N), Dinajpur (S), Sikkim, Tripura, Medinipur (E), Medinipur (W) and 4 districts each of Tripura and Sikkim state.
Services offered at Kolkata Passport Office
Passport services are provided to anyone who has a residence proof in West Bengal, Tripura and Sikkim. In case of students studying in the state, they need to provide Bona Fide Certificate from the concerned institution. The applicant has to come personally to submit the application along with all required documents.
Bring along the print out of the passport application which will bear the registration number and the date of appointment with the Passport office for submission of the application. Application for tatkal passports can be made directly to the Regional Passport Office in Kolkata. The online application cannot be done on the basis of an authority letter.
Application for tatkal cases are submitted at counters 1 and 2; applications for procurement of fresh passports can be done at counters 3 and 4, acceptance of online submissions of forms is done at counter 6 and 7; Ladies/Senior Citizens/Physically Handicapped can queue at counter 10 and re-issue and renewal of passport applications can be submitted at counter no.9.

The Regional Passport Office, Kolkata is located at: Regional Passport Office, 4 Brabourne Road, Kolkata 700001. For submission of application forms and miscellaneous services, the office timings are from 10:00 am to 1.30 pm from Monday to Friday; and delivery of passports that are promised by the passport officers are given out between 3:30 pm and 6:00 pm from Monday to Fridays.

This is regarding my mother's passport application # H001982. My mother submitted the passport application at Agartala ( Tripura) passport office on May 12th . My mother is a Govt. employee and have submitted the Annexure B and Annexure I . This should mean that the police verification is waived off . But the status still shows " Police report not received ."
