Pepper Rasam is a very delicious South Indian dish prepared with tomato, pepper and other spices. The recipe is integral part of Tamil Nadu cuisine. This is taken with rice and act as an appetizer or soup during lunch or dinner. Pepper rasam is very healthy dish and commonly used in every house during winter. Pepper rasam has medicinal value as it cures fever, stomach pain, heart burn and prevents indigestion. From traditional period, pepper was a part of ayurveda as cleansing and antioxidant agent. Pepper was used in Prasad am in ancient period.Pepper rasam recipe takes 10 minutes for preparation.
Ingredients to make Pepper Rasam
coriander- 1/4 tsp
jeera- 1/4 tsp
Garlic- 2 cloves
rasam powder- 3 tsps
lemon juice- 3 tsps
Procedure to cook Pepper Rasam
Take 2 cups of water in a pan and put tomatoes in it. Mash the tomatoes nicely. Grind the coriander seeds, pepper and jeera together into fine powder and add with other ingredients. Boil the rasam for 6 minutes at low heat. Spread coriander leaves on the rasam. Take some oil in another pan and heat it. Fry mustard seeds, curry leaves, urud dal, chana dal and asafetida in the oil till the dals change into golden brownish colour. Now the rasam is ready to serve.
