Phulaich fair

The Pulaich Fair that takes place in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh is held in the month of September every year. It is a very colorful event that and is famous for its fairs the festival and the spirit of the locals, its one of the best in its kinds of the area.

Link with flower watching festival

It is usually held according to the Hindu calendar in the monsoon period called Bhadrapada, and is linked with the flower watching festival of the area called Ukhyang which takes place in the Kinnaur Valley here.

Fulaich festival

The festival also associated with the passing away of loved ones is also called Fulaich festival is a colorful event with a number of, the village is always in a very high spirit during this festival and a lot of stalls and participants swamp the area during this festival, it also gives the tourists and visitors a taste of the country side of Himachal Pradesh.

The celebrations

The locals celebrate this event with great passion and zeal starting the festivities by going to the Mountain to collect the Ladra flowers, and with the sacrifice of animals, relatives also offer wine and food to in remembrance of the loved ones who have passed away and is later distributed to the poor, there are also a number of dances depicting ancient war scenes that are conducted and performed by the locals of the area.

If traveling by air the closest airport to Kinnaur is Simla, and by rail the closest station is Kalka, however the best way to reach the place is by bus.
