Pre-Requisites For PAN Verification

PAN:

PAN in full is Permanent Account Number. The Income Tax Department issued this 10 digit Alphanumeric Permanent Account Number in the form of laminated card. The income tax department made this PAN card mandatory to proof the income return.

Overview:

Enabling the eligible Entities to verify the Permanent Account Number (PAN), the Income Tax department launched an online Pan Verification service. This facility can be accessed by those Entities who are Government Agencies of both Central and State, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Banks, Depositories, Depository Participants, Mutual Funds, Companies (require to show the IT returns), Credit card companies or institutions, Stock Exchanges, Companies and Government Deductor, any other Entity who have to show the Annual Income Return. The service of online PAN Verification has 3 modes which are Screen based Verification, File Based Verification, Software based Verification.

Pre-requisites for PAN Verification:

The necessary prior condition for the PAN Verification is the Entity must possess the Digital Signature Certificate from any Licensed Certifying Authorities in order to upload the files online and for the purpose of signing the Application Digitally. This Digital Sign can be acquired by the Entity from certifying Authorities or Sub- certifying Authorities like Tata Consultancy Services Certifying Authority, IDRBT Certifying Authority, Safes crypt India-RCAI Class 3 Consumer CA, mtnl Trust Line Class 2 PAN card Subscriber Sub CA, mtnlTrustLine Class 2 ICSI Member Sub CA, mtnlTrustLine Class 3 Authorized Individual Subscriber Sub CA, mtnlTrustLine Class 3 Individual Subscriber Sub CA, MTNL Class 2 Telephone Subscriber Sub CA, mtnlTrustLine Class 2 Individual Subscriber Sub CA, Safes crypt RCAI Class 2 Consumer Individual Subscriber CA, mtnlTrustLine Class 2 Individual Subscriber Sub CA G1, mtnlTrustLine Class 3 Authorized Individual Subscriber Sub CA G1, mtnlTrustLine Class 3 Individual Subscriber Sub CA G1, MTNL Class 2 Telephone Subscriber Sub CA G1, mtnlTrustLine Class 2 ICSI Member Sub CA G1, (n)Code Solutions, NSE.IT RCAI Class 2 CA, Safes crypt RCAI Class 2 Onsite Individual Subscriber CA, IDRBT CERTIFYING AUTHORITY.

The digital signature must be in the name of the Applicant. An authorization letter by the applicant should be attached on the letterhead which is to be sent to NSDL.
