Puri Tour

Puri is one of the four religious centers in India and is located at a distance of 60 kms from Bhubaneshwar, the capital of Orissa. It is also known as Jagannath Puri Dham as it houses the famous Jagannath Temple.

The main tourist attraction of Puri is the Jagannath Temple which was built by the Chodaganga Deva during 12th century A.D. this important temple reaches to a height of almost 65 meters and therefore is considered to be the tallest temple in Orissa. In fact it is also one of the most marvel architectures in the whole of India. The important thing about this temple is that it is only temple where the idols of brother and sister are worshipped. Lord Krishna along with sister Subhadra and brother Balaram are worshipped in this temple by the devotees who flock from different part of the globe.

The other important temples of Puri are the Lokanath, Gundicha, Daria Mahabir, Tota Gopinatt and Sunaragauranga.

The 'Rathyatra' is an important event in Puri which is held during the months of June to July. In fact, the best time to visit Puri to experience the cultures and traditions of the local people of this place.

The beach of Puri is also quite beautiful and has mesmerizing several tourists in the different parts of the world. Puri also has many luxurious hotels, lodges and restaurants that can make your stay in this place quite comfortable and relaxing.
