Ram Gopal Varma

Ram Gopal Varma (born 1962) is a Director, Writer and Producer who shot into fame with his movie Rangeela Back in 1995 and critically acclaimed movie Satya in 1998 even though he was directing movies since 1989. Ram Gopal Varma's first movie was Shiva for which he won Nandi Award for Best Director.

Ram Gopal Varma, often known as Ramu or RGV has often made experimental movies like gangster or horror movies and set trends of similar type of movies.

Ram Gopal Varma was born in Hyderabad and though not very inclined in studies, he still become a civil engineer. In an interview, he had acknowledged that he was a movie buff right from early days and was watching 10 movies a week.
