If the need for the claim arises then it is mandatory to notify the local office of the Reliance Marine Insurance Claim. They will initiate the procedures so that you can get your insurance as soon as possible. You need to furnish them with some details such as: Policy Number, Date and time of the eventuality, place of loss, details of the event, estimation of loss, identity of the insured person and your contact number.
Actions to be taken for the quick recovery of your claim
1) You are expected to notify the Reliance Marine Insurance Claim Company as soon as the event has occurred.
2) Give them a rough account of your loss.
3) Obtain a claim form from the closest office or the international agents.
4) Ascertain that right of recovery against all third parties are protected.
5) If the case is sea shipment the application must be sent for scrutiny to the Shipping Company in three days of taking delivery.
6) You need to get damage certificate or landing remarks certificate or open delivery certificate from either the transporters or the port trust or the airlines.
7) You also need to get a certificate from the weather department in case the damage was because of a natural disaster like flood or cyclone or lightning etc.
Process to claim your insurance
All documents in the original must be given to the Reliance Marine Insurance Claim Company in the case of the accident. Photocopies are not accepted in this case and so in case you do not get the original then printed second copies must be obtained. Submit the documents all together within a reasonable time period.
