Rest in Life of a Human Being as per Ayurveda[edit]

  • Rest plays a very important role here. It must be for both mind and body. It controls your emotions, anxiety, and tension.
  • Eat calm lunch, take rest and avoid disturbances of any kind.
  • Meditations is the best source for keeping the mind in tranquility and peace and prevent any further aggressiveness.
  • One should not take heavy meals.
  • Cold things will balance the pitta. Cold bath is good .
  • When pitta is vitiated cold sweet fruit drinks are recommended. Dry grapes, grapes and apple juice are good.
  • Drink plenty of fluids.
  • Stay in a place surrounded by water.
  • Very cold foods are contraindicated, as they pacify the digestive fire.
  • Eat pitta pacifying diet. (Part-C).
  • Don’t skip meal as it may produce ulcers.
  • If digestion is high, then drink milk with sugar candy. It will help to bring back pitta into balance. If there is excessive appetite and excessive thirst, it is better to keep them in moderation with pitta alleviating diet (Part C).
  • Excessive hunger can be pacified not by reducing diet, but taking vegetables like bitter gourd and bitter beans and bitter green vegetables.
  • These are stated in charaka samhita, a compendium of medicine, an authority of Ayurveda medicine.
  • Avoid soft drinks as they increases pitta. Alcohol is like a petrol to digestive fire, which makes the appetite extraordinarily great and burns the intestines and liver.
  • Bread and fermented foods are also not good for pitta.
