SLIET Entrance test (SET) is a separate exam conducted by Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab for taking admissions into certificate courses, diploma courses, undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses and PhD programs. SLIET is an autonomous institution.

SLIET Entrance Test (SET) Eligibility Criteria:
Certificate Courses: candidate should be 10th passed with maths, science and english subjects from a recognized board of secondary education or equivalent.
Diploma Courses: candidate should be 10+2 passed with PCM / PMB (physics , maths, biology) / PMCs (physics, maths, computer science) / PMBt (physics, maths , bio technology) subjects or have passed any certificate course from SLIET itself.
Under Graduate Courses: candidate who have passed diploma course from SLIET or from any other recognized polytechnic institutes.
Post Graduate Courses: candidate should be B.E / B.Tech in relevant engineering discipline. For some branches, MSc passed students are also eligible like in for Polymer Technology branch, M.Sc. i Polymer Science/Polymer or Organic or Physical or Industrial Chemistry or equivalent are also eligible.
SLIET Entrance Test (SET) Admission Procedure:
SLIET conducts separate entrance tests for all level programs: certificate, diploma, UG, PG programs.
Certificate Courses: candidate has to appear in all india entrance test (SET-I).
Diploma Courses: candidate has to appear in all india entrance test (SET –II).
UG Degree Courses: candidate has to appear in all india entrance test (SET –III).
PG Degree Courses: candidate has to appear in all india entrance test (SET –IV).
Admissions will be facilitated based on candidate’s rank in SLIET entrance test merit list. Candidate’s who have secured below 20% score will not be included in merit list. 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 3% seats are reserved for physically disabled candidates. In all diploma, degree and PG courses, 10% seats are reserved for NRI quota. For certificate programs, 75% seats and for diploma programs 50% seats are reserved for Punjab state candidates.
How to Apply for SLIET Entrance Test (SET): Application form and prospectus can be obtained directly from SLIET by paying fee in cash or can be obtained by sending bank or demand draft favoring DIRECTOR, SLIET, payable at Longowal / Sangrur via post.
