Sach Ka Samna

Sach Ka Samna is a Television show, which is telecasted on Star Plus at 10:30 PM from Monday to Friday every week. It is actually an Indian version of Moment of Truth, which is the most famous television reality show introduced by America. The anchor of this reality show is Rajeev Kahndelwal, who is a film and television actor.

He has been an eye candy for many girls over the past few years now and got popular from “Kahin Toh Hoga” television soap. The initial season of Sach Ka Samna features some of the prominent personalities such as Yusuf Hussain (an actor), Urvashi Dholakia & Raja Chaudhary (Television Actors) and Vinod Kambli (former cricketer) to name a few. The show also features some non celebrity contestants and trans-sexuals.

The show first aired on Star Plus on July 15, and has since then received a huge response in view of raitings, called Television Rating Points (TRPs). According to the data provided by television viewership tracker Audience Measurement and Analytics (aMap), the show’s TRP stood at 3.4 percent.

Format of Sach ka Samna

Sach Ka Samna is designed on the similar format as “The Moment of Truth”, owned by Howard Schultz of Lighthearted Entertainment. Before appearing on the show, the celebrities or contestants are supposed to ask 50 personal questions whilst being linked up to a lie detector machine also known as a polygraph machine.

This machine measures the biological signs of the contender like blood pressure, pulse rate etc. to come to a decision, whether the reply is accurate or not. During the show, the contenders are asked only 21 questions. If he/she answers truthfully, he/she moves onto next question, but should the contender lie or simply refuses to answer after the question has been raised, the game finishes and the contender looses entire prize money.

The game has 6 levels to win 10, 000, 000 price money. The format of the show also incorporates a buzzer option which the guests who have come with celebrities can use at least once in the entire show, if they feel that the question should better be left unanswered. The contestant would then be asked an alternative question which can be either tough or harder than the one it has replaced.

Controversy with Sach Ka Samna

Sach Ka Samna within its first week’s broadcasting has created a debate over various issues. There are a few sects of people who have raised an issue to stop premiering the show, since the format involves admitting of social misconduct or gross personal details by renowned celebrities on the national television. By admitting such things on national television would make things more morally suitable for others in order to be indulged in related activity. Therefore, it can lead to gradual weakening and failing of society’s morals.
