Tamil Nadu Express is a super fast express train that between Chennai and New Delhi. Train No. 2621 travels from Chennai to New Delhi while Train No. 2622 travels from New Delhi to Chennai.

Train No. 2621 covers the distance in 33 hours and operates on a daily basis. Chennai New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express departs at 10 PM and reaches Delhi at 7 AM on Day 3. Since the travel is spread over two nights and only one day, the travelers lose only 11 productive hours in travel. Chennai New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express covers the distance with just eleven stops at major stations like Vijaywada, Nagpur, Bhopal, Jhansi etc.

Train No. 2622, also a daily train, covers the 2184 kms in 32 hours and 40 minutes. 2622 Tamil Nadu Express departs at 10.30 PM and reaches Delhi at 7.10 AM on Day 3.

You can travel in 2nd Sleeper, 3rd AC, 2nd AC and 1st AC berths in this train. The tickets cost Rs. 528, Rs. 1499, Rs. 1960 and Rs.3322 respectively.

This train is the pride of the North South rail network. It has a pantry car and is well maintained. It is difficult to find anyone who has traveled regularly between North and South India who does not know about this train. In peak season, it is difficult to find a berth even if one books a month in advance.
