Tech Regulations Mx/Sx

The federation of motorsport club of India (FMSCI) has announced some tech regulation for MX/SX. The rules have been drawn inn order to conduct the two wheeler races in a safe and proper way. The latest tech regulations MX/SX as of January 1, 2009 are as follows:

Classification – In this case the various kinds of two wheelers are classified. The classification is mainly done according to the cubic capacity of the engine in a two wheeler.

Homologation – The two-wheeler need to be homologated as per the rules of FMSCI. This mainly refers to the modification that needs to be done on to the engine and transmission in a motorcycle so as to prepare the machine for a racing event.

General Prescriptions – The general prescriptions must be adhered to while undergoing any kind of modification.

Number Plates – It must be three in number and must be made from a solid rugged material.

Exhaust pipes – the extremity of the exhaust pipe must not pass vertical tangent of the rear tyre and the exhaust gases must be released from the rear.

Control Lever – All the necessary controls in a handle bar that is the clutch and the brakes must be principal ball ended. The diameter of the ball must be of 19 mm and can also be flattened in certain cases.

Throttle Control - The throttle control must be self closing when not held by the hand.

Handlebars – The angle of rotation of the handlebars on either side must be of twenty degree. Stops other then steering dampers must be fitted to ensure a minimum clearance of 30mm between the handlebars.

Footrest – this must be placed in front of the vertical line passing through the center of the rear wheel. It must be positioned in such away so as to gain easy access to the control pedal.

Chains – The locking clips on the connecting links must be fitted properly and also in the right direction.

Chain Guards – the transmission chain must be covered with a chain guard as a measure of safety. This prevents the rider to come in contact with the transmission parts.

Brakes – All the machines must be fitted with efficient brakes.

Tyres – the tyres must be in good condition with no sign of cracking or perishing and also with no cuts either on the sidewall or on to the thread surfaces.
