University Institute of Technology (UIT) is located in the Burdwan in the state of West Bengal. It was established on September 15, 1998 with the joint efforts of Burdwan University Executive Council and the state government of West Bengal. In fact it is one of the important initiate of the Burdwan University Executive Council and was founded to meet the demand of expertise and experience manpower in the different fields of engineering.
History of UIT
As per section 2 Sub-section 16 & 17 of the Burdwan University Act UIT enjoys the status of a Professional College that is being administered and managed by the Burdwan University. The institute started as a small institute that was only offering three graduate engineering courses, such as Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Information Technology. Then in the academic year 2003-04 applied Electronics & Instrumentation course was launched for the students. Then again in the academic year 2008-09 Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering course was introduced in the institute by the management. UIT has come a long way since its inception and is today perceives as one of the best institute in the state of West Bengal.
Engineering Courses
UIT is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). All its engineering courses are designed as per the guidelines and regulation of AICTE. The theory portions of the courses are effectively complimented with live practical and trainings to enable the trainees to have an exposure regarding the actual work scenario in the engineering sector.
UIT also has excellent infrastructure which is equipped with computerized lab facilities, informative library and experienced faculties.
