VJTI Mumbai stands for Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute. VJTI is considered as top most college of Bombay after IIT. The college was founded in 1887 and was initially known as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute but in 1997, its name was changed to “Veermata Jijabai Technical Institute”.

VJTI Mumbai runs many graduate and post graduate degree and diploma level programs.

Institute has following departments: Structural, Civil & Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, Production, Computers, Mathematics, Physics, Technical and applied chemistry, Humanities and Management.

VJTI Mumbai offers B-Tech (Bachelor of Technology, four year degree program) in following streams:

VJTI Mumbai offers M-Tech (two years post graduation degree program in Masters of technology) in following streams:
All the courses are recognized and approved by A.I.C.T.E. Admissions are through GATE score or Sponsorship.

• Electronics Engineering (25) and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering(15)
• Mechanical Engineering (Machine Design seats available(25), Automobile Engg seats available (25), CAD/CAM & automation, Mechatronics (18))
• Production Engineering (total number os seats avilable are 18)
• Textile Technology (total number os seats avilable are 18)

Other than above VJTI also runs several undergraduate and post graduate diploma programs.

There is one special core program of institute is Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) which is funded by World Bank.

How to take Admission in VJTI, Mumbai ?

Aspiring students seeking admission in undergraduate B.E program need to appear and qualify MHT-CET (Maharashtra State Entrance Engineering Test) and should have passed 10+2 exam with mathematics, physics, biology and Chemistry as major subjects minimum 50 % marks to get admissions.

for M-Tech courses, candidates should be graduate in respective streams and required to pass written test and personal interview conducted by the college. Candidates sponsored by any valid institution(experienced)can also appear for the test and get admission. Candidates who have valid GATE score can skip written test.

for admission in MCA program, students should be graduate with at least 50 % marks and have mathematics as one of the major subject in their graduation program.

Btech Program :
the fee structure is as follows:

• tution fee: 15000 INR
• Development Fee: 10000 INR
• other fees(college,mess,clubs ,hostel etc): 19250 INR
• Total Fee: 44000 INR

MTech Program:

• 23,515/- and Rs. 25,000/- for GATE candidates.
• Rs. 28,515/- and Rs. 20,000/- for Non GATE candidates.
• Rs. 38,415/- and Rs. 10,100/- for Sponsored candidates.
