Vijayawada Tour

Vijayawada is 267 southeast of hyderabad, the third largest city in Andhra Pradesh . It is situated on the northern bank of Krishna river and bounded on the three sides by the Indrakiladri hills .It is early known as Bezawada. vijayawada is one of the largest railway junction in India and busy commercial town.

Kanakadurga temple
It is situated on the low hill to the east of Indrakiladri hills .This temple is dedicated to goddess Lakshmi and most powerfull because it is self manifested. Sri charka is installed by lord shiva .The timings of the tempe is 4:30am to 10:30 pm .Dasara is celebrated with great religious fervour.

Victoria jubilee Museum
It is situated on Bunder road established in 1887 . people are more attracted because of its unique collection of arts and artcrafts.It has huge collection of Hindus and Buddhist relics from the 2nd and 3rd century .Timings of the museum are 10:30am to 5 :00pm except on Fridays and public holidays .

Prakasam Barrage
It was built in 1855 and was reconstructed in 1955 and named after Sri Tanguturi Prakasam ,the first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh .This streches 1223.5 mts across the river Krishna .

Bhavani Island
It is a marvellous island in the river Krishna located near to prakasam barrage extends more than 130kms . It is a wonderful picnic spot consistes of swimming pools , water sports , boat riding , water adventures etc.

Mogalrajapuram and Undavalli
Mogalrajapuram is situated 3kms to the east of vijayawada and Undavalli is 4kms to the south .These are famous for their rock – cut temples .one can find interesting carvings and sculptures in these caves .

Mangalagiri Lakshminarasimha Temple
It is situated at 12kms south of vijayawada,this place is famous for textile and cotton sarees .

Kondapali
It is situated to the west of vijayawada for about 14kms away . This village is famous for their unique painted wooden toys ,is dominated by the 8th century Hill fort built by the Eastern chalukya dynasty . At the crest of the hill there is a ruined Tanisha Mahal Palace .

Manginapudi Beach:
It is situated 10kms away from machilipatnam It is a great tourist spot in vijayawada with laid park with a water fountain and well surroundings .
The water in this beach Is shallow and safe . Is a good place for relaxation .
