The Indian Railway have specified some terms and conditions for those passengers who are travelling in group and thus want to book a separate carriage for a journey of privacy and comfort. To book such carriages the passenger will have to apply to the Chief Passenger Transportation Manager one month prior to the date of journey but not 6 month prior to the scheduled date of journey. They will have to bear the fees which are to be paid at least 48 hours advance to the scheduled date and time of departure of the train to which are coach is to be attached.
Following are the details of the cost of reserved carriages:
The mail or express fare charges are calculated according to the number of adult persons travelling in the group or the carrying capacity of the carriage. Which one more will be taken in to consideration. The subject to fares will be computed on the basis of point to point.
The coaches or tourist cars or the saloons will be charged minimum for the distance of 500 km for mail or express trains. A service charge of the fares is to be paid apart from detention, demurrage, hire, empty haulage charges etc.
There is no concession allowed for the booking of the special coaches, tourist cars and saloons. Full charges are applicable for students, children and senior citizens. The due charges are to be paid 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
The charges for empty haulage should be levied for 200 km. the charges are
• Class – AC coach
• Empty haulage charge per Km – Rs 16.00
• Class – Partial AC coach
• Empty haulage charge per Km – Rs. 14.00
• Class – Non-AC coach
• Empty haulage charge per Km - Rs 12.00
The detention charges are:
