Zaheer Khan is india's ace bowler. Born on 7th October 1978 in Ahmednagar in Maharashtra, Zaheer has been a member of the indian team since 2000. He has been a consistent performer throughout because of which he has become a premium bowler for india recently. Zaheer is a left arm medium pace bowler and more popularly knowm for his swingers, both ways. Zaheer is extremely witty with swing bowling and his records are a proof of that.
Zaheer Khan's Career
Zaheer Khan was elected for the national cricket academy in bangalore in the year 2000. That was when he made the selectors catch the eye. He was immediately selected for the tests against bangladesh and ODI's against Kenya. Impressive performances saw him cement a place in the indian squad. A mix of dip in form and injuries saw zaheer out of the indian team in 2003-04 season but strong performances in domestic circuit saw him bounce back.

Zaheer Khan was always an opening bowler. He opened the bowling previously with Javagal Srinath and was more of a underdog. But as of age, Zaheer has become india's leading wicket taker. He has taken 178 wickets in test and 205 in ODI's. He has a relatively good batting average as a tail ender in both Tests and ODI's. No wonder he has a record score by a number 11 batsman in a test match. Zaheer scored 75 against Bangladesh in Dhaka which is still a record to be broken.
