Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir was born on 14th October 1981 in Delhi. He is a left-handed opening batsman for India in ODI's and 20-20 generally. A relative newcomer to international cricket, Gambhir has scored heavily at the domestic level. Gambhir is the most run getter in the domestic level. He is a wonder talent that has yet to see his best years in international cricket.

Career so far

Gambhir made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in the TVS cup in 2003. In only his third ODI Gambhir scored a hundred. Following year he made his test debut against Australia. It was a nightmare debut as he scored only 3 and 1 in the two innings but Gambhir made amends by scoring 96 in the next test against South Africa. Gambhir has an impressive record in ODI's. He has played 56 ODI's and scored at an average of 39.02 runs. In tests, it is, a bit better as he has scored at an average of 37.11 in 17 tests played so far. Gambhir is seen by many as an emerging talent and a future opener who can fill the void left by Sourav Ganguly.

Gambhir in 20-20 World Cup

Gautam Gambhir was the top scorer in the 20-20 world cup that India won. It was his match-winning innings of 75 against Pakistan in the finals that saw India win the game and the world cup. He is also selected by the Delhi Daredevils for the IPL. He has top scored for Delhi Daredevils as well.
