Matriculation + minimum 55% with Science and Mathematics OR
XII (Science) + 55% marks in Physics and Mathematics +Opt. Subject Biology/Computers
Computer knowledge is preferred.

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION (Executive):
Eligibility:
Nationality: Indian
Age limit: 19.5- 25years while applying
Marital status: Unmarried
Educational Qualifications: (Must adhere to at least 1)
1.Graduate from Science stream with Physics + Mathematics and minimum 55% OR
2.Post Graduate from Science stream (Recognized University) with min. 55% marks and specialization in the order:
- B. Sc(Physics) and M.Sc. (Mathematics) OR
- B.Sc( Mathematics) and M.Sc (Physics)
3.B. Tech/ B.E from an AICTE recognized university with min. 55%
4.Graduate/Post Graduate in Operations Analysis and Operational Research OR Mathematics with Probability or Statistics Quantitative methods with minimum 75% marks from recognized university.
5.Science graduates (Physics & Mathematics) from a recognized University with NCC Naval Wing, Senior Division ‘C’ certificate
Duration of Service:
SSC is generally for a term of 10 years of service that can be extended to a maximum of 14 years subject to the performance and general pre- requisites.
Selection Procedure:
Candidates are selected for SSB interviews on the basis of their academic performance and qualifications.
5 tests are conducted over a period of 5 days:
a.Day 1- Intelligence test, Group Discussions and Perception tests
b.Days 2, 3, 4 deal with Group tasks, Psychological tests and Interview.
Candidates declared successful will undergo a Special Medical Test
(Duration: 3- 5 days)
Appointments:
Successful candidates are appointed for training in Order of all India Merit depending on the vacancies.
Candidates are inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy, Goa.
They are later inducted on Naval Training Establishments/Units/Ships.
Allowances: Full pay and allowances paid while under training.
Probation: 2 years
Note: Candidates are liable to be discharged if their performance is unsatisfactory.
