Humpy Koneru a chess Grandmaster from India was born on 31st March 1987 in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh. In 2001, Humpy participated in the World Junior Girls Chess Championship and won the title. In 2006, she was eliminated in the second round of the Worlds Women Chess Championship. In 2007, according to the FIDE, Elo rating she was ranked as the number two in the world among the women chess players, and by breaking the record of Susan Polgar, she was ranked as the Second highest female player in the History of chess. In the same year, by beating Judit Plogar’s record, Humpy became the youngest women Grand Master Chess player.
