Robin Uthappa

Robin Uthappa was born on 11th November 1985 in Karnataka. Uthappa is a right handed batsman and has immense talent. He is an exicting young prospect and has caught the eye of the selectors at a very young age. Uthappa made his debut as an opening batsman and is gradually been sent down the order recently.

Early Career

Robin Uthappa first came into fame with a knock of 66 against India B in the challenger trophy in 2005. Also a knock of a hundred in just 93 balls then sent him high into the big league. He was also a member of the under 19 Asia Cup which india won. Uthappa is an attacking batsman and has grown more popular after his performances in 20-20 games. After all these achievements at the domestic level, uthappa made his international debut against england in April 2006. He made a record when he made 86 as an opening batsman; the highest by any debutant opener for India in limited overs cricket.


Robin Uthappa is an attacking batsman. He is seen as a future player for india. In the world cup 20-20 and in a couple of matches in the IPL, he has made some good contributions. In the natwest series he played a remarkable innings under pressure against england to win a game for india. Considering all these, uthappa is seen as a bright future for indian cricket. Uthappa has scored 576 runs in 20 matches; an average record, but considering his potential he has been given chances time and again.
