Shanmugham Venkatesh

Shanmugham Venkatesh is one of the best midfielder in the Indian football team. He was born in Bangalore, India. He started his career of footbal by playing for ADE ( Aeronautical Development Establishment) club in the year 1996. In 1997, he played for ITI ( Indian Telephone Industries) club, where he was coached by the veteran coach Krishnaji Rao. Venkatesh has represented India in many international games. He was also awarded the "Player of the year" by the All India football Federation and also became the first player from Bangalore to receive this award. In 2004, he became the captain of the Indian football team for the World Cup qualifying match against Singapore. Under his captaincy, the Indian football team also won the 2005 SAFF Cup which was held in Karachi.
