About Walchand College of Engineering

Walchand College of Engineering was established in 1947, with a modest commencement with Undergraduate course for Civil Engineering. The college is situated mid-way amongst Miraj and Sangli cities at Sangli, Vishrambaug. Subsequently, the undergraduate programs in mechanical and electrical engineering were introduced with an intake facility of 60 students in each discipline during 1951 and 1950 respectively. The commencement of this institute is solely because of devoted and untiring attempts of Late Shri Dhondumama Sathe, who was a great freedom fighter.

• ‘VISION’, which is a national-level technical meet that includes series of expert lectures by prominent people in the industry, design contests and technical exhibitions, are organized yearly.
• The Magazine of college is published regularly in the month of April annually. The college magazine facilitates students with an inspired outlet in order to articulate their talent.
